Startup Sprint
Turn your research into real-world impact.
Startup Sprint is a one-day workshop for Massey University students and staff who want to explore the commercial potential of their work. You'll team up with peers from other disciplines, apply proven startup tools and go from "what if" to a pitch-ready proposition, all in a single day.
Startup Sprint will help you with:
Exploring the commercial potential of your research
Understanding customers, users and stakeholders
Using practical entrepreneurial tools
Developing a compelling value proposition
Collaborating across disciplines to test and strengthen an idea
Building confidence in communicating your research
Pitching to a panel of judges
What to expect from Startup Sprint
Startup Sprint combines a facilitator-led workshop with hands-on, team-based application. You’ll be introduced to key entrepreneurial concepts and practical examples, then apply them directly to a research idea alongside peers from different disciplines.
Over the day your team works through the same stages real founders go through: defining the problem, working out who your customer really is, stress-testing possible solutions and shaping a proposition that could stand up in the real world.
The focus is practical, collaborative and fast-paced. You do not need previous business or commercialisation experience.
